Astra Theme Sidebar Styling Guide: A New Way to Restructure Your Page

Astra offereda side-bar (in software)The Style feature allows you to change the visual representation of the sidebar on the page for people with different content layout needs.

Introduction to Style Options

Sidebar styles apply to either the left or right sidebaropening (chess jargon), provides three ways to set up:

Boxed
Add a border to the sidebar to make the structure clearer and the content area independent.

Unboxed
Remove the border restriction to allowa side-bar (in software)Blended with the overall content, the page is more spacious.

Default
use the currentweb pageor an existing style configuration in the global settings.

If the page settings are set to Default, the system automatically applies them in the following order of priority: Page Setup > Page Type Settings > Global Settings.

Setting position

Sidebar style options can be set in multiple areas:

• Appearance > Customization > Sidebar: Setting up the entire site'sa side-bar (in software)type

• Appearance > Customize > Blog > Single post: set for post content

• Appearance > Customize > Blog > Blogging/Archiving: Apply to article archive page

• Appearance > Customize > Page: Apply to Normal Page

Working with Container Layouts

can be used in combination with other layout types to achieve differenttypographicalStyle. Example:

Choose the standard layout, the container is set to "boxed", the sidebar is set to "unboxed", forming a strong sense of partitioning without being confined to the page structure.

Supported Scope and Usage Limitations

Currently, the layouts that support this style setting are standard layouts and some pages with sidebars. Some layouts cannot use this feature for the time being:

• Full-width layout: sidebar style cannot be displayed because the content has been expanded full-screen
• Narrow layout: this layout focuses on the content area and does not provide sidebar style control for the time being

Plugin Adaptability

This feature is compatible with common functionality class plugins for content, course or e-commerce websites, including:

• WooCommerce
• LearnDash
• LifterLMS
• Easy Digital Downloads

Setting up sidebar styles in conjunction with these plugins can enhance the overall content presentation and structural clarity of the page.
