Astra theme using Gutenberg editor

I'm using the free version of the Astra theme, and I'd like to use the Gutenberg editor to create pages. But every time I create a page that doesn't use Elementor, I get the old section editor instead of the Gutenberg I was expecting.

I have found that it is recommended to select the "Gutenberg" option from the starter template, which will load a series of templates suitable for Gutenberg. When you go to the starter template, the option in the upper right corner is "Block Editor", not "Gutenberg".

Gutenberg should be the default editor, is there some setting I need to activate to make sure it works?
