I was building a WordPress site, then installed a user rights management plugin, want to test the different roles of the background access rights. So I changed the role of my administrator account to "Editor", the result is just a refresh of the background, the page has changed - the menu is missing a large part of the click into the "Plug-ins" or "Appearance" page. When I clicked into the "Plugins" or "Appearance" page, it directly popped up a sentence: "Sorry, you are not authorized to access this page".

My first reaction was to clear my cache, log out and log back in, but it still doesn't work. The plugin settings page, the user permissions page are completely inaccessible, and there's no place to click even when I want to cut back to the administrator role.

  When WordPress displays "Sorry, you don't have permission to access this page", it's usually because the account permissions have been changed incorrectly. There are two ways to fix it: if you can access the database, you can change the user permissions field in phpMyAdmin to restore your administrator status; if you can't log in to the backend or manipulate the database, you can also add code to the functions.php of the theme temporarily via FTP to create a new administrator account to log in to the backend and fix the permissions. Both methods are effective in restoring access rights, and it is recommended to backup website data before operation.
