I'm a developer who just started using WordPress, and my previous experience was mainly front-end development with Next.js, so I'm not a stranger to programming. But recently I've been trying to build a website with WordPress, and I've gotten a little lost, so I thought I'd come to the forums to ask for some advice.
WordPress offers a lot of ways to build a website: the Classic Editor, Gutenberg Block Editor, Elementor, Bricks, Beaver Builder, and so on, as well as a variety of premium themes and plugins, each of which seems powerful. But it's also a bit overwhelming for me.
Where I'm particularly conflicted is with builders (like Elementor, Bricks Builder, etc.). On the one hand, they're really convenient and efficient, and they're especially helpful for building pages quickly. But on the other hand, I'm worried that if I use them for a long time, I'll become dependent on drag-and-drop and lose sight of the underlying code logic, and my programming skills will get rusty. Is this an unfounded worry? Or has this been the experience of many others?
