Adding Multilingual Layouts to Astra Site Builder with WPML

Astra Pro The plugin's built-in Site Builder feature allows you to freely design web page layouts like building blocks. Together with the WPML After the plugin, you can also adjust the page structure for each language (e.g. Chinese, English) individually to ensure that the site in different languages looks uniform in style and easier to manage.

Before enabling the translation function, you need to complete the following settings:

The site has the Astra theme installed and Astra Pro plug-in (software component)
WPML Plugin activated and language settings completed
Open in the background WPML > Settings

scroll down to Article Type Translation shore

tick Site Builder (astra-advanced-hook) Translation privileges

Select as required"Displayed when translation is available"or"Display default language content"
Click Save to complete the setup

After the setup is complete, all layouts in Site Builder will appear in the translation management scope of WPML.

Translate Site Builder Layout

go into WordPress Dashboard, select Astra > Site BuilderThe language status can be easily viewed by switching to the table view.

To the right of each layout, translation icons are displayed for each language:

"+" icon Indicates that translation can be added
Gear Icons Indicates translation in progress
Pencil Icon Indicates completion of translation

Click on " under a language+" icon to enter the advanced translation interface of WPML. The left side of the interface shows the original content and the right side shows the translated fields.

After filling in the translation line by line, click "Completion of translation" button, the system will automatically save and link the translated version.

If you don't translate for a while, you can choose "Back to list" to save the current progress.

When the translation is unfinished, the original "+"The icon will change to "pinion (gear wheel)" icon to mark that the translation is in progress. Click on this icon to continue editing the unfinished translation at any time.

After completing the translation and submitting it, the system will automatically create a version in the corresponding language and associate it with the original layout. At this point, in the layout list, the original "+"The icon will be replaced with "pensThe "icon" indicates that a translation is already available in that language, and clicking on the icon will allow you to make subsequent changes to the translation.

The effect of the completed translation

After the translation is submitted successfully, the original layout structure remains unchanged, and only the language of the content changes. The page will automatically display the corresponding version according to the language selected by the visitor.

Each layout can be repeatedly accessed on the edit page to adjust the translated text without affecting the other language versions.
