Elementor Font Settings saving not working? Check if optimized font loading is enabled

What is optimized font loading?

Elementor There is a switch provided in the performance options called "Optimize Font Loading" or "Improved Asset Loading". What it does:

• Merge or streamline font requests to improve speed
• Remove font calls that are not used on the page

Sounds like a nice feature, but it's based on "whether the page is actually calling the font".(of cargo etc) loadbehavior. If fonts are set in global styles or dynamic content, Elementor may misinterpret this as "not used" and cause the fonts to not be loaded at all.

That's why you obviously set the fonts, but nothing changes in the frontend.

Check the location of this feature

You can find this switch in the Elementor settings:

• Go to Backstage → Elementor → Settings
• Switch to the "Experimental Features" or "Advanced" tabs
• Find "Optimized Font Loading" or "Improved Asset Loading".

• If it's on (Enabled or Beta), you can try turning it off first!
• Save the settings, clear the cache, and then refresh the page to see if the font is back to normal

What if I don't want to turn this off?

You can also apply fonts in a different way if you wish to continue to use it to optimize page loads, but want the fonts to display correctly.

Suggested approach:

• Explicitly use the font once on the page, such as manually calling it on a headline or button
• Make sure that fonts are not used only in dynamic templates or CSS Instead, it has been seen in the actual visible area
• Avoid relying only on global settings, can be used in conjunction with localized modules to ensure they are recognized as "called".

In this way, Elementor recognizes that this font is useful and naturally won't be excluded by the optimizer.

Bonus tip: clean cache + regenerate CSS

Even if you adjust the font settings, sometimes the page remains the same. This is when you can do the following:

• Elementor → Tools → Clear Cache → Automatically Generate CSS Files

• Clear cache plugins (such as WP Rocket(LiteSpeed Cache, etc.) Cache
• If you use the CDNFor example, Cloudflare flushes the cache as well.
